Led by Aim’s Vice President of Software Development, Dan Kellgren, the two-day initiative was to get the team away from their day-to-day tasks to spend time learning and dreaming up big-picture ideas to better support Aim’s employees and customers.

The value Aim’s in-house software development team delivers to the customer experience cannot be overstated. Not only does the group develop technologies that address the challenges inherent in the transportation industry, but they also address the unique challenges inherent in a wide range of industries that Aim’s customers operate within.

Aim's software development team recently participated in team-building activities, and studied current and upcoming technologies during the group’s Winter Software Summit.

Led by Aim’s VP of Software Development, Dan Kellgren, the goal is to get the group out of the office to spend the day training, brainstorming, focusing on growing knowledge or skill for applicable technology-related topics.

New App Feature Streamlines Road Rescues

Hand holding smartphone with Aim Navigator app launching.Drivers can now report breakdowns quickly and more efficiently through the new Road Rescue module inside the Aim Navigator app.

Instead of a driver having to call to report a breakdown, he or she could use the new feature to instantly send an alert to personnel in Aim's Road Rescue department, who will immediately contact the driver.

Using GPS coordinates provided automatically through the app, the Road Rescue team can dispatch a tow truck to the exact location of the impaired vehicle. The driver can also choose to receive text updates once service is dispatched.

Kellgren Named VP of Software Development

Dan Kellgren, Aim Vice President of Software DevelopmentPlease join us in congratulating Dan Kellgren on his promotion to Vice President of Software Development. Dan started his career with Aim Transportation Solutions in 1995 as he was finishing his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Youngstown State University. His first role with Aim was IT Tech Support on a team of three.

From that initial role, Dan worked his way up to Senior Programmer on the software development side before leaving Aim in 2008 for an IT director role at a local entrepreneurial company. Dan returned to Aim in 2013 where he has been serving as the Director of Software Development until being named Vice President of Software Development this month.
